The original of a new Moz live song
Old time friend of Morrissey, James Maker,
is the singer of this band. He appears in
the documentary "The Importance of being
Morrissey", I believe.
Moz have covered this song live recently,
at the Roskilde festival i Denmark, for instance,
where I saw him. (It was great!)
The song originally comes from Raymonde's only album,
"Babelogue", from 1987.
Enjoy: Raymonde - No-one Can Hold A Candle To You

Swedish twee only released on CD-r
Some time during the second part of last year
I came to chat (on soulseek) with a boy with a truly
amazing collection of music on his harddrive. But my
prejudices were playing dirty tricks with my mind.
Since his hard disc collection was so elaborate,
I thought, aah, great geezer my on age (gray-hairing,
30 years).
On the harddrive there were everything from
twee bands from 20 years ago, over really mature
adult american rock to really, really obscure swedish
80's punk bands and some of the latest releases from
small indie labels. I naturally told him I thought
he had a great collection.
It turned out to be a 18 year old girl in the small
swedish town of Alingsås. ("Pagis" on slsk)
After I'd been forgiven, she told me of a - now favorite
of mine - swedish twee band. The Second hand furniture.
They went to the same school and where friends.
I cannot thank her enough.
So, here comes one of their best songs:
Second-hand furniture - Alone out in the sea
Second-hand furniture's official homepage. In swedish only.
"Lyssna" means listen if you want to hear more of them!
Now I'll be gone (just when i got started alright!)
for some two weeks, going out on my old woodenboat.
See ya!

As usual, if anybody would like me to remove the track, please contact me at jojunonkok@hotmail.com . It is of course not my intetion to violate copyright-laws, I just want my favorite bands to be more well-known. And, hey, go buy all the albums and singels by Photo jenny (if you can get hold of them!)

Rare original covered by The Smiths
Pretty rare The Smith song, with an even more rare original,
let me introduce to you:
Cilla Black - Work is a four letter word
I guess most of you that would be interested have
already heard it. Well, anyway.

Tips (in swedish)
Halvårstips:
1) FILM
The Legends - Nothing to be done
Skivan heter "Up against the legends"
3) WINE:
Förslag till årets bubblare:
39 kronor på systemet! Sött,
somrigt, fylligt (det betyder
att man blir full på det va?)
och ger garanterad uppåtfylla.
Dessutom perfa för låtsas-
champagnedrinkar.

Two forgotten albums
Sorted my records today for the first time
in over a year. A truly Nick Hornbyish experience.
I found two remarkably great records that I
have had in possession for some time,
but never quite understood before:
1) Art rock/Singer-songwriter Phoebe Snow
seems to have passed most people by. Sad, since her 1974
self titled record have amazing qualities.
Listen to "Poetry Man" or "I don't want the night to end"
for example. Fans of - for example - Joni Mitchell
will not be disapointed.
2) The Doobie Brothers might not
have been the coolest band i the 70's,
but their 1973 record "The Captain and me"
can be recommended to everyone interested in
truly american rock music.
